About
I appreciate your interest in my practice. I am a psychologist with 35 years of experience working with college students and adults with a range of mental health concerns. I am active in sessions, with a strong focus on our collaboration: your goals and your progress are the keys to our work. I use evidence-based cognitive and behavioral therapies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have remained engaged with learning through my wonderful clients and through training and consulting to doctoral students and other therapists.
My specialties include conditions that have both a physical and a psychological component. Examples range from anxiety disorders to addictions, stress to chronic illness. I incorporate behavioral medicine techniques, including biofeedback, relaxation, meditation, mindfulness techniques, and behavioral experiments and tracking between sessions.
I serve individuals and couples, and I have worked diligently to strengthen my understanding of the role of ethnicity, culture, race, gender, and sexuality in my clients' lives. I am comfortable with a wide range of clients, and I leverage a strong therapeutic relationship to promote change. I welcome hearing from you about your goals for therapy.
