I am a psychologist & psychoanalyst with more than 25 years of outpatient and hospital based experience. I provide individual and couples therapy for clients struggling with the full range of interpersonal and emotional issues that bring people into treatment. Active compassionate listening designed to get to the root causes of my clients' pain and suffering is at the heart of my work. I trained and worked at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts for many years and completed psychoanalytic training at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute where I am now on the faculty. Wit and warmth also come in handy.
Special interests and areas of expertise include college mental health and the transition to young adulthood; work inhibition and conflicts during graduate and professional school; conflicts around intimacy, interpersonal engagement and sexuality; adaptation to chronic psychiatric disability.
My office is located just outside Harvard Square and is a 5 minute walk from the Harvard Square "T" Station. It is convenient to Harvard, MIT, Tufts, as well as easily reached from downtown Boston, Brookline, and the Western suburbs of Boston. Office is fully handicapped accessible.
