My practice focuses on working with individuals who are struggling with persistent emotional or relational difficulties that are not easily resolved through short-term approaches. This often includes experiences rooted in early development—what psychoanalysis describes as primitive mental states—which can influence how one feels, thinks, and relates to others.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Psychoanalyst working with patients across the lifespan—from adolescence through senior adulthood—in a full-time psychoanalytic private practice in downtown San Luis Obispo.
Psychoanalysis is a way of understanding how unconscious processes shape our emotional lives. Many of the roots of emotional pain and internal conflict operate outside of awareness. Through psychoanalytic work, these patterns can gradually become more conscious, allowing for greater understanding, emotional processing, and relief from longstanding struggles.
