I provide individual counseling services to all over the age of 7. When I have a child under age 16, I work with parents also in separate sessions. As a former teacher, I have insights about navigating the world of academic institutions. I also welcome adults dealing with divorce, grief, trauma and issues stemming from growing up in a dysfunctional home. I strive to create a welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere for all, including LGBTQ clients. Furthermore, I have experience with recovery from substance abuse, and would welcome anyone in IOP or sober living situations.
I focus on helping people discover their authentic self and become more satisfied and successful in all areas of life. I provide a listening ear and guidance for those experiencing depression, anxiety, codependency, grief, and substance abuse. My techniques are solution-focused, person-centered, and informed by the concepts of DBT.
As a fellow traveler, I have made my share of mistakes and experienced loss and disappointment in my life. I use these detours as lessons that make me more empathetic and genuine. Such episodes only prove that I am human, special but not unique.. This is how I see each of my clients.
