I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) approaches to help with these struggles. DBT helps with staying in the here and now, effective interactions with others, bearing painful events skillfully and managing our emotions. MI focuses on understanding what motivates us and helping us remove barriers to making healthy changes in our lives. I also use humor; it heals!
In my work, I strive to be the person who listens to understand, rather than listens to respond. I strive to communicate that I care about your concerns rather than being the person who blames, invalidates, and dismisses. I'll strive to nudge and gently push you out of your comfort zone so you can learn what you are truly capable of and avoid future regrets.
