I believe it is important to meet you as an individual wherever you are at, especially during challenging life circumstances. My approach to counseling is compassionate, with a focus on educating my clients and aiding them in developing competencies targeting positive growth. Many of my clients see results within the first few weeks (small wins), as I support you and we work toward your bigger picture goals. It's my hope that you experience a sense of empowerment and encouragement as you consider making changes at your own pace.
My background includes many years of experience as a social worker, school counselor, mental health educator, and being involved in men's ministry in churches and on college campuses. My passion area is helping individuals, couples, and pastors / churches to improve their psychological and spiritual health.
In the first few sessions, I focus on understanding my clients' unique stories and perspectives, before developing a treatment plan together based on your goals. Typically, I try to provide something that will be of use in the first session (Biblical insights, research, homework, referrals).
