Accepting new clients; same day and crisis appointments available, generally Monday-Thursday 1-8pm. My aim as a counselor is to earn your trust and respect, so that you can feel confident in the care you receive. I am not a counselor who only "repeats back what you just said" (though this is important). I believe that counselors also need competency, wisdom, and the qualities of a good parent or teacher in order to be effective. The psychological views and tools I use have been developed through training and life experience. If you are open to learning and growing, I believe that you can make forward motion in your life.
I can help you process emotions, develop strategic thinking skills, and deepen your understanding of mental health. I provide psychoeducation on various topics that influence counseling effectiveness, including prior misdiagnosis, medication mismanagement, neurotransmitter deficiencies (ex. dopamine), lack of social supports, poor diet, or sleep issues.
Mental health struggles can often carry a stigma with the general public. I believe in helping all clients to remove shame, in order to normalize the process of improving your mental health. My hope is that you feel that the counseling office is a unique place, where we can talk about subjects ranging from the weather to childhood traumas.
