Counseling should be a collaborative effort to improve overall quality of life - not a mere labelling of "symptoms" that need to be "treated". Developing skills for managing cognitive/emotional challenges is important, but so too is enhancing your existing strengths and natural abilities! As a professor of graduate studies in clinical counseling, I employ a more 'interactive' therapeutic style (not best for those who need the 'quiet type'). Since retiring from professional music, I enjoy opportunities to integrate art and creativity/talent into the counseling process. Together, let's create new paths for achieving your goals!
I work with individuals and couples (ages 16-55) facing a range of circumstances: from life-phase transitions & relational difficulties to needing assessment/diagnosis/medication management. I have advanced training and hold specializations/certifications in counseling for neurodivergent populations, couples/relationships/marriages, and addictive disorders.
If you are experiencing difficulties with life balance, intimate relationships, or managing preexisting diagnoses, I offer evidence-based support in a caring and humanistic manner. I encourage you to contact me for a free consultation. We can review your unique situation and you can decide if my approach & style will be a good fit for your specific needs.

I have advanced training and experience applying evidence-based services (ACT, CBT, and DBT) for Anxiety; C-PTSD; Mood Disorders; Substance Use/Addiction; and other diagnoses. However, I also see many clients who do not qualify for a clinical diagnosis, instead needing support with life adjustments or finding purpose. When providing counseling for intimate relationships, I utilize EFT-C and DBT-C.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an integrative model that resists the historical, deficit-based approach to understanding and 'treating' challenges to mental/emotional wellbeing. Therapy works by identifying and enhancing strengths while increasing self-awareness/insight into difficulties (Acceptance). With this self-knowledge, we can 'Commit' to living in better-alignment with our values.
