Hello! It’s wonderful you’re thinking about therapy. I’ve been in your situation before – reading therapist bios can be exhausting – but it’s comforting how, even in the worst of times, considering new perspectives can help us in unexpected ways.
I originally moved to New York to be an actor, but after being diagnosed with OCD, I also became passionate about helping others with mental health issues. By respecting your unique backgrounds and beliefs, I strive to create a compassionate and empathetic space where self-reflection feels safe.
Feeling accepted in a therapeutic space has made all the difference for me, and seeing clients benefit from this same acceptance – through my education at St. John’s, work at a 24-hour crisis line, counseling justice-involved teens and adults, and experiences at in-patient settings – has been incredibly fulfilling.
I use an integrative approach, utilizing a psychodynamic lens, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy, to consider what actions or thought patterns might not be serving you. It’s amazing how we can grow, and even thrive, with the help of a non-judgmental listener. We all need this support, and I hope to share it with you.
