My ideal client would be any person that is in need of someone to talk to. They want to feel heard and understood. They have an idea of what they would like to talk about and what they would to see for their own future. Even if they are one hundred percent sure what they want, they are willing to talk about it. Also I think that it is important to be open to the idea that therapy can be fun!
My primary therapeutic modality is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps clients develop effective coping mechanisms and challenge negative thought patterns that may be hindering their recovery. Through CBT, clients learn to recognize and reframe unhelpful beliefs, manage their emotions, and practice healthy coping strategies.
I got into this field to help people find what makes them be where they want to be. I was taught early in my career and now I often say that I am not driving the bus to your recovery, I am sitting in the seat next to you. So lets go!
