My trauma- and mindfulness-informed, culturally responsive approach to counseling is based upon CBT, EMDR, IFS, Somatic Therapy, and DBT. I am an EMDR Certified (EMDRIA) and IFS Level 1 Trained (IFS Institute) therapist. As a queer black cis-woman, I enjoy working with clients from various backgrounds, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.
I focus on the whole person, her/his/their feelings, behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs, believing that each individual is capable of self- direction and growth. During sessions, I work to maintain an environment emphasizing unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness.
