My ideal client is a person who wants to get to know themselves. The ability of therapy to provide a person with self knowledge is undervalued. Somewhere along the path of obsession with diagnosis the part of therapy that helped people discover not only their symptoms but also the under-served and under-expressed aspects of their personality was left behind.
Treating our mental health symptoms is the most important part of therapy. But I think therapy can be so much more exciting and interesting when we also discover parts of ourselves that are as profoundly important to us as our symptoms. Reach out, I'd like to meet you!
I'm skilled at EMDR, LI, narrative CBT as well as coping skills from DBT. I'm also trained in hypnotherapy.
I think reading about someone is not as effective as sharing time with them when it comes to deciding whether you can work with them.
