I take a holistic approach to therapy, using methods and techniques primarily found in CBT as well as solution-focused approaches. I use CBT to draw connections between what emotions and thoughts fuel the behaviors to better understand what fuels the actions. Increasing the awareness of issues is often a first step to change. I use solution-focused approaches to identify what action steps can be taken throughout therapy. I have also found solution-focused to be useful when focusing on present issues, if there is no need to unpack and discuss the past with a client.
I have experience primarily working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, anger issues, relationship conflict, and spiritual issues. Whatever the issue might be, I make it my goal to walk with you in creating the steps to reaching your ideal self.
I make it my goal to make sure I am understanding my client's experience situationally and emotionally. I use clarifying and reflective statements throughout each of my sessions to understand my client's position. You can expect me to be a patient and calming presence throughout each session.
