I have been working with addiction for over 9 years. Addiction in itself can be a traumatic event as it causes us to go against our morals. Addiction is a symptom of deeper unresolved experiences, contributes to shame, can produce anger, anxiety, and depression, as well as many other common symptoms. I have created research-driven, individualized treatment plans for every topic my clients present with. Each person has a different story, set of needs, and goals, so I take a person-centered approach to best serve. In recovery, it is essential to identify our strengths and capitalize on these rather than only focusing on the problem.

I specialize in supporting anyone affected by addiction including their families, as well as those seeking personal growth. As a certified addiction counselor and certified brainspotting practitioner, I address complex emotional challenges. I am also a certified experiential specialist, a certified somatic practitioner, and an anger resolution expert!

Addiction can create intense uncomfortable emotional states that we tend to want to avoid addressing. To begin healing, we must feel these emotions, and to feel the emotions, we need someone to process them with. I have personally experienced the darkness of addiction, am in recovery myself, and strive to help people see their light!

I use a strengths-based approach. I use cognitive therapy to assist in identifying how thoughts, emotions, and feelings work together. I implement experiential methods driven to produce emotions. I utilize brainspotting in my approach when appropriate and when there is an intense emotional reaction linked to a prior experience.
