About
Many people struggling with chronic alcohol or drug addiction have difficulty finding a way to create a successful path forward to become free. Sometimes we are trapped in our own belief systems that keep us from being happy and keep us abusing alcohol and drugs. I can help focus on a practical solution. I have helped people very new to recovery, and those with years of recovery still dealing with past issues. It is possible to be free from negative emotions and thoughts ruling your life. There is a path to healing and forgiveness for everyone. I have worked in outpatient , residential, inpatient, and hospital-based settings.
I help people to reframe their experiences so that they can move ahead and change. Underlying a relapse pattern may be a trauma or abuse history. I also specialize in helping couples where one of them has 'the problem' and the other one is frustrated or fearful or feels neglected. I work from an optimistic and strengths-based perspective.
I have the ability to engage with people on a deep emotional level with their own individual story and needs. Today's addiction field is overly reliant on drug therapy. I believe people are stronger than that. I believe that addiction is a form of slavery and that recovery is freedom. Free from labels, negative self images and distorted beliefs.
