It is difficult to acknowledge that something is bothering you, much less to take the courageous step of reaching out and beginning to talk about it with a virtual stranger. Within a safe space, therapy provides an opportunity to develop a unique relationship and discuss whatever brought you here. It is important to me to understand the significance of your particular feelings, thoughts, and beliefs. Together, we will hopefully come to understand the underlying sources of your concerns, as well as new aspects of yourself that were previously hidden from awareness.
I have treated a wide range of individuals in private practice, a community mental health center (Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy), an outpatient substance abuse clinic (Bellevue Hospital), a camp for children diagnosed with ADHD (NYU's Child Study Center), and a parent-child group (Pacella Parent Child Center).
I have a special interest in substance use and the personal meanings it has for the individual. I follow a harm reduction model, rather than an abstinence based approach to treatment.
