I believe we are desperate to be both known and loved completely. Most of our experience, however, tells us this is impossible. How could anyone who truly knows me still love me? What kind of love am I really experiencing if they love me but don't know the truth about me? I believe our stories take shape in how we try (and often fail) to reconcile this seeming paradox.
