The two most important factors in effective psychotherapy are finding the right person with whom you can connect and knowing that the therapy is geared to your unique needs. My 45 years of counseling have taught me therapy is most effective when we work together. Therapy is a cooperative effort. I want to identify your strengths and apply them to your problems. If you have a history of trauma, I have found that EMDR and the psychedelic healing of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy are the most effective ways to treat trauma, and I am excited to offer these therapies.
I have worked for 44 years as a licensed substance abuse practitioner and was the director of a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. I am a certified EMDR therapist and a Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Practitioner.
I have trained many therapists for licensure and have presented at state, national and international conferences on topics related to substance use disorders, childhood trauma, and psychotherapy techniques.I am the author of "Getting Unstuck" a book for therapists. I have also served as a mental health consultant at the Emergency Room at Centra Health.
