I believe therapy can be a deeply strange, powerful, and intimate experience. As a therapist, I try to cultivate a space that is playful, authentic, and non-judgmental. Together we can examine long-standing patterns, relationships, and modes of being in the world. My commitment is first of all to creating an environment where you can start to put language to confusing, difficult, and sometimes hard to express feelings and experiences. Perhaps most importantly, the hope is that together we can find ways for you to experience a broader and deeper range of feeling.
I've supported people struggling with a wide variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, as well as post-traumatic stress & complex trauma, bipolar disorder, and substance use. In session, I listen attentively and encourage you to reflect more deeply on emotions, thoughts & experiences that may be underlying your concerns.
Finally, I work to practice in ways that are anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and non-pathologizing. I'm attentive to issues related to intersecting and marginalized identities, as well as how the broader social world enters into therapy. It can be scary reaching out to a new therapist!
