Athletes or professionals, if you or someone you know struggles with anxiety, grief/loss or addiction, let me help! As a former collegiate athlete and current sports enthusiast, there are complexities that an athlete or professional experiences: pressures of in-game performance, managing high stress, season or career ending injuries, or life transitions after sports career ends. All of these can produce intense anxiety, grief/loss and addiction which can cause shameful, intrusive thought patterns. I focus on combating shame by expanding healthy coping strategies, increasing self kindness, and understanding family patterns.
Also, I focus on grief and loss, helping to navigate this heavy journey. Sometimes it feels like a fog, maybe it's hard to see past your daily activities. I use Warden's Four Tasks of Mourning to provide structure while establishing coping skills and identifying past experiences with grief and loss.
As you journey through this change, it is not about perfection, but about the pursuit. I greatly appreciate the incredible courage it takes to move through this difficult time and I look forward to being a part of your team!
