Having worked as a therapist for over 15 years, I have, I believe, developed competence in helping individual adults, families, couples and children (10 - 18yo) around needs such as communication, parenting, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, family dynamics and adjustment disorders. I strive to adopt an approach that is conversational, comfortable and non - judgemental. Clients have consistently reported feeling at ease and free to "be themselves". I employ a variety of interventions and approaches including Cognitive Behavioral (what we think determines what we feel and do), brief, family systems, structural and any and all others to assist most effectively.
As indicated above, my years of experience have afforded me the opportunity and privelege of searching out and addressing personal, interpersonal, mood and a variety of many other problems connected to the current and historical circumstances of my clients. I sincerely strive to listen - non - judgementally and compassionately.
I think I should stress again, that my style of "laid - back", conversational and "easy going" intervention have helped my clients feel comfortable: allowing for greater ease in assessing and addressing needs. At the same time, I believe fervently in the necessity of actively practicing new - more useful behaviors.
