Hello, I'm Jon Ray, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 18 years' experience as a therapist. I'm based in Reno, NV and provide telehealth services throughout the state. I specialize in couples therapy and insomnia treatment and work frequently with individuals experiencing depression and anxiety. I tailor my approach based on the needs of those I work with. I frequently use CBT, DBT, Gottman method and CBT for insomnia. I've found these approaches to be very effective for couples, anxiety and depression, and those having difficulties with sleep.
I have an easy-going personality and like to use curious questions to learn more about why you are seeking therapy and to more deeply understand the problems you are experiencing. I provide a calm, safe and non-judgmental environment to help people feel comfortable opening up with personal challenges.
During our first session, we'll work on getting to know each other to foster trust and understanding. We'll define specific problems, I'll explain an approach I believe will be helpful for you, and you will be able to leave the session with at least one skill to help you make progress.
