About
I have focused on developing an expertise in technology addiction; including the internet, cell phones, and video games. I work with clients of all genders from early adolescence through adulthood. Additional presenting issues that I often treat include depression, loss, trauma, and anxiety. These may be episodic manifestations of the symptom, or part of a larger personality, autistic, or adjustment disorder. These clients typically are looking for support and the chance to explore their feelings and experiences in a way that enhances their self-understanding and self-efficacy.
I mainly work within a psychodynamic psychotherapy framework; however, I may include techniques that draw from behavioral, cognitive, or mindfulness schools so the client is treated in a manner that is best suited for them. Most importantly, I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to effective therapy.
I specialize in treating individuals with addiction to technology, pornography, computers, or video games. I also work with military veterans to determine compensation and pension. Additional specialties include couples and group therapy.
