John has written and spoken extensively on counseling, homelessness, child protective services, and crisis counseling. He has a B.A. from Yale University, a M.A. from Stanford University, and did his counseling education at James Madison University, where he earned a M.A. in clinical mental health counseling and a PhD in counseling and supervision.
