I work with adults whose struggles are long-standing rather than recent - people for whom the same painful patterns keep recurring across relationships, work, and earlier attempts at therapy. Often that means a personality disorder, chronic or treatment-resistant depression, or emotional pain entangled with substance use. Many of the people I see have been in treatment before, sometimes for years, and arrive wondering whether real change is possible. If you feel your concerns are too complicated or pervasive to address, or you've cycled through therapy without lasting improvement, then I'd love to work with you.
My approach draws on Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) and psychodynamic therapy. Rather than simply managing symptoms, we work to understand the patterns beneath them - how you make sense of yourself and others, especially under stress. As an LPCC and LADC, I'm trained to treat substance use alongside these underlying patterns, not as a separate problem.
This is, by design, complex work - deep patterns take years to form, and don't reorganize in a few sessions.
