I believe that each of us has the ability to achieve our highest potential despite whatever path life has taken us. We move forward despite the difficulties presented to us along the way. Sometimes along this path we are faced with circumstances that make it difficult to cope. There are times when childhood experiences, hurtful interactions with others or horrific events can interrupt our present day functioning to create stress in our day-to-day living. For these and many other reasons, we lose our way and find ourselves off-track from the path that could lead us to our highest and best selves.
I work with clients on the deeper complex issues related to attachment, developmental & shock trauma. I work to help increase self-regulation and decrease symptoms caused by chronic dysregulation of the nervous system. I work from a whole body perspective to help increase integration, strengthen resources and to move trauma out of the body.
I am a registered play therapist supervisor, Sandplay Practitioner, Theraplay therapist, EMDR therapist, Organic Intelligence Practitioner - Expert Level (OIX), Touch Skills for Trauma Therapist and a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.
