We live in an unpredictable world and are often coping with many changes where we have little control. As a practice, we help people cope with external events: job loss, a breakup, or loss of a friend or a family member, unexpected illness or injury etc.. Through teaching coping skills and providing support we can improve your ability to improve self-care, regulate your mood, and increase enjoyment in things. We strive to bring out your strengths and help foster the innate tools that life has already given you.
We provide solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral approaches and narrative therapy. We work in collaboration with clients to design approaches best fitting their needs. I specialize in treating mental health disorders: anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as working with people with addiction to drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, and food.
Sometimes life can throw us curve balls and it becomes difficult to navigate life. However, if we reach out for support and help, we increase our odds to effectively steer through a crisis. We can focus on the joys our friends and family bring us, have confidence that we can cope with life’s ups and downs, and begin to the light shinning around us.
