About
I have practiced psychotherapy for over 30 years. I draw on a number of contemporary theories to guide my work with clients. But when I am with clients, I wear my theories lightly, as I listen carefully and work to develop a deepening trust. As we explore the problems and distresses that have brought you to therapy, we will work together to deepen our understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing. As we work, we will construct a richer and more interrelated autobiography. One's story is oneself, and therapy can help to make self and story more whole. This can be profoundly healing and freeing.
I have successfully treated clients with family problems, parent-child problems, career uncertainties and career changes, mid-life crises, intense anxiety and depression, PTSD, and the problems and stresses of aging.
I welcome working with clients from age 18 onward. I have a lot of experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, as well as with clients from many other walks of life.
