My focus is on the treatment of trauma, and how trauma manifests itself in each of my clients' lives. Untreated trauma often shows itself as substance abuse, depression, compulsive overeating, or compulsive sexual behavior. Trauma and substance abuse may make it difficult for us to make vital life transitions and transformations. We get stuck... so to speak. If this sounds like you, I want to provide a safe space to explore your concerns. I have both weekday video sessions and live Saturday sessions available. I primarily use Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to treat trauma.
I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University. I have core training in EMDR therapy, and additional training using EMDR in the treatment of childhood based emotional injuries. These injuries may affect a client's ability to regulate their emotions, and form close personal relationships.
I have a special interest in the treatment of trauma and addictive disorders. I want my clients to better understand how traumatic stressful events may result in difficult chronic emotional and behavioral issues in their lives. I am also very interested in working with clients who are exploring possible new life transitions and transformations..
