My clients are looking for change in their lives. I like to work with clients not only on what they are changing, but where their current behavior comes from. I investigate the behavior my clients are exhibiting and the story behind it. The benefit to the client is not just that we can work to alter that behavior that no longer serves them, but that, because we've made the story behind it more conscious, we can observe and change other behaviors related to that story that might keep them from growing.
My specialty is transition and transformation. The process of change requires letting go of the old, the actual metamorphosis, and welcoming in the new. Therapy through a transition honors the prior while allowing the new. It makes transitions conscious, which helps limit the influence of old stories that may no longer serve us.
Almost any MD knows what to do to fix a broken leg. But there is no universal mental health procedure that can heal you: only you know what improving you means. I hold the space. I ask questions which come from a place of curiosity. I will sit and investigate with you how you'd like to change, and we will work together to find a path to your growth.
