About
I am a psychologist in practice for over twenty-five years, working with children, adults, teens, and families. My approach is interpersonal and attachment-oriented, but I also use concepts and techniques from meditation and mindfulness disciplines. I am a general-practice psychologist and like to see a diverse cross-section of clients, though I have worked more specifically with family conflict, and children of divorce, in recent years. Currently I am primarily working with adults and couples in remote teletherapy sessions.
My work with adults uses psychodynamic, attachment, cognitive and interpersonal theories to understand the client's beliefs and expectations, and how they are affecting their current emotions and decision-making. Being a more mindful person - and being able to break with emotional patterns from the past - are key skills that I teach and encourage.
I am a non-directive therapist who always starts where you are, and works toward goals that you establish. I was trained at Massachusetts Mental Health Center and Judge Baker Guidance Center, and have worked as a family clinician a consultant to private schools, and as a family court evaluator.
