My name is John Coleman Jr. I am a native of Statesboro, GA that moved to North Carolina in 2002. I played football while receiving my bachelor’s degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. That’s where I met my beautiful wife. I am a man of God, husband, father, son and friend. I have 4 kids, 3 daughters, and 1 son. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and drag racing. I started working in the mental health field in my sophomore year in college (2003) with adults and children. My love and passion for others motivated me to get my masters in licensed professional counseling at Grand Canyon University.
I currently have my LCAS-A, and I am a certified peer specialist in Georgia while studying for the NCE. I enjoy working with individuals living with substance abuse disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD.
I like to implement a lot of role-plays and motivational interviewing within my sessions to give individuals real-life scenarios. One of the famous quotes that I stand firmly on is “Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a brand-new opportunity to rebuild what you truly want”.
