“Rivers meander, life has phases” (Old Vietnamese proverb) This proverb speaks to the impermanence of life’s conditions and its suffering — how situations in life can go from good to bad and vice versa. Challenges in life are inevitable, but whether one suffers with defeat or transforms from it, that is undecided. We do not have to wait out the suffering, hoping for better days, or bear its weight on our own. All phases of life are important and worthy of care and happiness so together we face the challenges of life (loss, grief, rejection, addiction, depression, anxiety, loneliness, etc.).
My approach to therapy is person-centered, trauma-informed, and integrative of attachment and relational dynamics. The therapeutic work will involve exploration of one’s history as well as in-the-moment feelings and reactions.
Through reflection of feelings and unacknowledged pain, change and healing can happen. I believe the capacity to heal and transform is inherent in everyone. I am sex positive, kink and psychedelic friendly. I encourage clients to bring all of themselves to the work and explore the nuances that make us individuals
