My name is Joetta Willis, Ph.D., LMFT. My approach to therapy is client-centered. I believe in helping others help themselves. I hold certifications as a Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Grief Informed Professional. I have an integrated approach to therapy. I like to meet the client where the client is. My most common approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am also a Christian Counselor. I believe in partnering with my clients and taking a journey together. I like to help my clients discover their inner strengths. My clients feel empowered.
I typically work with clients who have experienced trauma in their lives. I have worked with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, physical assault, and childhood traumas. I have worked with many clients experiencing depression and anxiety.
I chose to become a therapist after experiencing traumatic events in my life and being helped by a therapist. I was so enlightened by the process that I wanted to help others to receive what I had received. I love what I do and seeing people take back control of their lives is a very rewarding experience.
