Hi there! My name is Joell and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with adults and older adolescents as they invest in their own mental health. I earned my Master of Social Work at Boston College and Master of Divinity at Baylor University. I am also a certified yoga teacher, all 3 experiences of which have informed my holistic approach to therapy. As a former military brat, I come from a place of curiosity and a desire to see and experience the world through a variety of perspectives. My therapeutic approach is one of deep empathy and compassion, exuding warmth and inviting my clients to open up.
As a social worker, I've worked with individuals with a trauma background, frequently struggling with anxiety and depression. I've also served individuals and families impacted by chronic illness, most notably cancer. It has been a privilege to help clients navigating the complexities of death and non-death loss.
My passion for this work comes from a deeply rooted belief in the resilience of the human spirit, even through the greatest of hardships. To sustain my work, I enjoy reading young adult novels, watching sports, spending time by the water, drinking generous amounts of coffee, and cuddling with my boxer named Dobby.
