Helping children reach their full potential, means meeting their needs not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. The pressure to succeed in school can be anxiety producing and lower a child's self-esteem. Through Cognitive Behavioral techniques and play therapy, I help students of all ages take more pride in their accomplishments and help them to overcome the obstacles standing in their way. I will work with children, adolescents and their families as they work to become more resilient and help them reach their goals.
Working with children and adolescents is why I went back to school to get my Master's in Counseling after a decade in the business world. I currently practice as a school counselor and I am familiar with many of the difficulties that today's students and their families face.
In addition to working as a School Counselor; I am a Behavior Specialist and Mobile Therapist for BHRS. Each Summer I work as Assistant Director working with Children and Adolescents at a camp specializing in Social Skills. Lastly, I provide guidance to parents with their child's IEP or 504.
