I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 30 years experience. My work is collaborative, strength based and often playful. I have an extensive background in working with family systems through the lens of attachment theory. Over the past several years I have shifted from family to individual work with adults, utilizing a model of psychotherapy called Internal Family Systems. I find this model an empowering and dynamic way of helping individuals get to know parts of themselves, thus taking charge of their own healing.
My understanding of attachment theory is useful in this process, as the client discovers ways to engage his or her internalized attachment figure as a source of resilience and self-compassion.
