In my more than twenty-five years as a healing professional and coming from a background that includes theater, teaching, banking and hospital administration, I have come to view psychotherapy as less a set of scientific procedures than as a healing art. I believe that everyone has a primary need to be heard, seen, and known. I have the experience and sensitivity to gain trust and be totally present with my client's life story and to hear, see, and understand everything I can that will help me assist in the recovery process.
Although my primary focus is working with couples, I welcome individuals as well. I try to integrate each client's beliefs, attitudes, and expectations in ways that foster a supportive healing environment and allow me to utilize the therapeutic methods and procedures that work most appropriately in each particular situation.
I feel the spiritual component is vital to effective therapy and apply it whenever I can in the therapeutic process. I have seen how deeply spiritual and psychological growth are interconnected. To bring this aspect into focus I draw on my own life experiences as both a therapist and recovering individual.
