I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over ten years of experience. I primarily use cognitive-behavioral therapy and a person-centered approach to address a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, personality disorders, post traumatic stress disorder and trauma. My goal is to provide a warm, welcoming environment for clients to explore difficult subjects and to set goals for positive change.
I graduated from Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I later completed a Master of Arts in Community Counseling through West Virginia Graduate College. My clinical experience has focused on working with adults with a wide range of issues at a community mental health agency.
I am currently receiving training to become certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address trauma and abuse in older teenagers and young adults. I have a certified therapy dog, Penny, who will be in therapy sessions, when appropriate, to provide comfort and reassurance.
