I have been in mental health for many years. There is not much I have not seen, heard, or experienced in my own life or a family member's life. At this stage, I feel pretty seasoned. I am confident in my skills and have an uncanny ability to relate to most everyone. I am down to earth and pass no judgement.
I attended therapy 18 yrs. ago after a divorce & was going through a difficult time. I know what it's like needing support outside of family/friends. That experience increased my understanding and sincerity with clients. I use that experience as a reminder of just how folks expect to be treated during a time where they too are not the best of themselves.
