Grief is something we all face in life, but each person experiences it differently. Sometimes it’s due to the death of a loved one. Other times, however, it’s due to the loss of your country, your health, your plans for a family, or another important pillar of your life. You may be finding that this feels much different than you expected it to—rather than just feeling sad, you feel angry, impatient, constantly on edge. You’re tired of people telling you “they know how you feel” (they don’t) or that you’re “so strong” (you don’t feel that way). Your world has been permanently changed, and you’re not sure how to move forward.
I specialize in working with both children, adolescents and adults to process their grief and identify ways they can grow and move through it. I know that your experience is unique, and I won’t minimize that. I will honor it in our work together, meeting you right where you’re at to regain your footing and support you on this journey.
It’s okay to feel the way you’re feeling right now. No matter how long it’s been, no matter how much it varies from society’s idea of “grief”...it is okay, it is deserving of attention, and it is welcome here. Reach out today to schedule a free consultation with me and decide if I’m the right therapist to support you.
