Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LMSW

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming or frustrating because you are not living the life you dreamed of. Maybe you are experiencing some questions about yourself that you have never voiced to anyone. Sometimes it is difficult to come and speak to someone new. I will work to help you feel comfortable. I am here to help you navigate through this time in your life to help you find the appropriate and empowering path for you. I will listen to you and develop a plan with you to address where you are and where you want to go.
My approach uses a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, mindfulness practice, and skills training. I am passionate about working with transgender individuals and their family members. I am associated with the Comprehensive Gender Services Program at the U of M. I use the WPATH Standards of Care to help individuals move toward living true to themself.
I enjoy working with people and seeing the unique qualities each person has. I will provide a safe and welcoming space for you and will support you in moving toward the way you want to live.

Someone I love identifies as a transgender person
Members of the group will identify their personal concerns, if they are experiencing grief related to adjusting to their loved one's identity, and what is needed to help them come to a more supportive relationship. This group will provide a safe place to openly talk about each person's thoughts and feelings, which may be inappropriate to say to their loved one. This group will start after social distancing requirements have been lifted.
