About
The primary focus of my work for the past 15 years has been with adults to help them move beyond their struggles and find healthier, freer and more fulfilling lives. You are more than just a list of symptoms. When we work together you will have my full attention. Most hurt and trauma happens in our relationships with others and building a trusting relationship with your therapist can help heal those wounds. We'll make connections between what's happening now and what happened in your past. We'll also work on feeling less shame and more safety in the now. You'll get to know yourself better and ideally feel less suffering.
I am active in sessions and will share my thoughts and reactions and will provide resources along the way. I use a mix of curiosity, authentic engagement, openness and compassion to help guide you through examining your life story from multiple angles. You should walk away knowing more about yourself, your struggles and what to do about them.
I also work with people struggling with chronic illnesses and chronic pain. I am medically knowledgable and familiar with mindbody approaches and the latest neuroscience. Whether it's a medical problem or an eating disorder, we will probably only ever spend 20% of our time on those topics and instead we will focus on the rest of you and your life.
