I work with children, students, adults, couples and families. I practice from a systemic perspective and use a variety of clinical approaches. I often work with clients on family of origin issues, trauma-related issues, and I often incorporate expressive arts in our work. I believe we all have struggles, as well as the capacity to move through our struggles successfully. My goal is to work in ways that help you access your own courage, determination, resilience and strength - and move towards creating what you want for yourself and your family.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), and other approaches to working with trauma, including somatic work. I work with sand tray and other expressive arts and play therapy modalities, and I work with both mental health and substance abuse issues.
On most days, my dog, April is in my office with me. She is a small lap dog, and offers extra support and comfort. Though she is not a trained therapy dog, she is very therapeutic!
