I have a passion for helping people feel better emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually by empowering them with the tools and skills they need to heal themselves. Our bodies are beautifully designed to heal, but often “life” blocks this natural healing process. I work with individuals and families from upper elementary school age to senior adults. I have been exclusively in private practice for 10 years since my retirement from school counseling. I have work experience in behavioral health at Coastal Plain as well.
I can help clients with anxiety and depression through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, learning to replace negative thoughts with positive ones that are more helpful, more realistic and kinder to them. I can teach coping strategies, to help with panic attacks, anhedonia (lack of interest, energy and motivation,) Also with trauma.
I have 28 years of experience in the local school system and I am comfortable helping families navigate the joys and challenges of the school years and the impact this has on families. I have also worked at Coastal Plain Hospital and helped families with serious mental illness.
