Are you caught in a stressful cycle of conflict in your relationship? Does it feel as if you and your loved one(s) are repeating the same pattern? Let's work together to change this. I can help you to discover how unspoken communication, past experiences, and beliefs, may be influencing your relationship. We will work together to understand these patterns, and how they aren't serving you. Together, we can develop more effective communication skills and replace the patterns which are holding you back. I believe that therapy should be collaborative, empowering, and solution focused.
Rooted in the Ackerman Relational Approach (ARA), an eclectic approach, I can help you to recognize maladaptive communication cycles; together, we can end these patterns. I know that many factors may contribute to present communication concerns, including intergenerational trauma, systemic oppression, the stress of modern life, and identity issues.
I have a warm, empathetic, and guiding style. Seeing transformative change in the families I work with is both humbling and inspiring. Each couple or family brings concerns that are individualized, and I view the concerns you bring as unique as you are. I have a particular interest in working with LGBTQ families and couples.
