Hi there, I'm Jo Anne Bowman, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Anxiety, depression, and problems in relationships are something we all encounter in life. While “normal”, these life challenges are not always easy to deal with. They can negatively consume large amounts of our precious life energy. Regarding you as the expert about yourself, I see my role as the facilitator to your self-discovery and transformation in dealing with these life challenges.
Drawing on humanistic and client-centered approaches, I use motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques to provide short-term, problem-solving therapy to address specific life challenges you may be facing. My satisfaction comes from you having more strategies and confidence in dealing with these challenges.
I typically work with students, parents, young professionals, military personnel, and retired individuals. I am most comfortable treating anxiety, depression, and relationship problems.
