Hello, my name is Jizette. I'm here to help you work through any issues you may have. I have been counseling for over 20 years. I realized as a teenager that I wanted to be a therapist, this was over 30 years ago when therapy was not popular like it is now, but I knew I wanted to help people in this way. I love helping others work through their issues and improve their quality of life. My approach to therapy is utilizing evidence-based therapy to help you work through your issues and learn evidence-based coping techniques.
I primarily use cognitive-behavioral therapy, which focuses on both thoughts and behaviors. I also use other evidence-based therapy approaches based on my client's needs. I primarily work with clients who have anxiety and/or depressed mood. I also have extensive experience with helping clients dealing with grief and loss, as well as relationship issues.
I typically tell my clients, "I am here to help you help yourself" by learning processes and feelings and learning evidence-based coping techniques. We will develop a treatment plan together by discussing your wants and needs. will explain how therapy works in great detail and allow you to ask questions as needed.
