Anxiety and depression are the most common reasons people come to therapy. There are others, like trauma, compulsive behaviors, and relationship issues that cause distress. Our initial session will focus on identifying what is problematic and establishing a treatment plan to see a gradual lifting of symptoms. Over time, we will work on our goals and make directed efforts to lessening distress.

All CMHCs are trained in the use of multiple therapy modalities. I tend to favor Person-Centered (Rogerian) therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I often employ some experiential concepts into the session when the moment calls for it. Having been trained in so many modalities only helps modify treatment to suit your specific needs.
