I've been working with children since 1991, mostly at the elementary and preschool age level. In the 90's I developed a passion for play therapy and began my own training and experience. Twenty years later I have my ideal space at Cashman Center where I provide play therapy every day, addressing everything from anxiety to trauma to attachment, teaching new skills including assertiveness, self-advocacy, and emotional independence, and consulting with families. With over twenty years of experience doing assessments in the schools, I continue to do assessments for learning styles, behavior and mood dysregulation, autism, and ADHD.
While I specialize in play therapy, I have lots of experience in assessment of childhood emotional, behavioral or academic problems, and I know how to work closely with schools to provide seamless generalization of skills to the classroom and community. I also assess giftedness and provide consultation to parents.
Lastly, I am often complimented by my clients and colleagues not only for my knowledge of children and child development, but also for my patience in working with kids. Your child will feel welcome in my kid-friendly office while I work to provide you with guidance, support and insight.
